The name Baga comes from the creek, this is the end from where the beach starts, every day right in the morning there is a sea food market held at the confluence of the sea and the creek. The insignia Baga reads out loud behind the Baga creek. The entrance to the Baga beach again has the name written boldly along with mannequins displaying the Goan rural village life. The stretch of the sand is quite wide and there are series of beach beds lying in an array in front of the series of shack which run parallel to the beach.
Location of Baga Beach: - Baga beach lies in the north part of Goa adjacent to the Calangute beach and south to the Anjuna beach. It is located 30 kms from the state capital Panjim. You can hire a car/cab to reach the Baga beach, Bus service is also available, there is a Govt bus stand right next to the Baga beach.
Baga Beach the Famous Party Place – If you are a party freak then Baga is the place for you. You can indulge in night long parties at the Tito’s and the famous Mambo’s shacks at the Baga beach. Normally they entertain couples and they charge around 1500 INR for a party which starts as the sun sets and goes on till the dawn.
Famous shacks at the Baga Beach - The Baga beach has series of Shacks right from the baga creek all the way to the southern end. Lario shack, Eggy’s shack, Brito’s shack, Shabana, Rudra these are the names of some of the famous shack’s at the Baga beach, you can simply enjoy a chilled beer or you can enjoy a fluffy omlette or you can dine on the famous sea food at any of these shacks. These shacks also provide free of cost beach beds to their customers the same are available at charges of 100 per hour to the non customers.
Water Sports at Baga - All sorts of water sports are available at the Baga beach Para sailing-800 per person, Jet ski-500 per person/ hr, Banana boat-1000 (4 persons), Bumper boat-600, Boat ride-350 per person. Ever Dolphin boat rides can be done on request at the Baga beach. The rates are indicative and you can certainly negotiate for a better deal.
Shopping at Baga Beach - Just at the entry of the Baga beach is a market where you can shop for clothes, souvenirs, imitation jewelry, tattoos etc. This market normally operates till late night as Baga is famous for late night parties.
