Upon landing at the Paro international airport which is the only international airport of the country. You will be welcome here by the company representative and then you will be transfer to the capital city Thimphu where most of the population lives. This city is located on the distance of 50 kms from Paro international airport which will take around one and half hour to reach.
Upon reaching at Thimphu you will be checked in to your hotel and take refreshment. Afterwards you will be proceeding for the local sightseeing of the city which is centre of religion, commerce and administration. The best known thing about this capital city is they have no traffic lights in the entire city. Here you will visit the Tashichho Dzong which is a Buddhist monastery and fortress of glorious religions. It was first built in 1216 AD by Lama Gyalwa. Thimpu Dzong is another name of the place where you can see the throne rooms and the offices of the king. After the visit you will move to explore the markets of the city famous for wooden and bamboo handicrafts, textiles and souvenirs. Return back to your hotel for the overnight stay.
Day2:- Paro City TourEnjoy your breakfast at hotel and then you will leave to explore the visit of Buddha Dordenma which holds the largest Golden statue of Shakyamuni set on the top of a meditation hall. This statue is 169 feet tall which housing 125000 smaller Buddha statues inside it. After the visit you will be leaving to Chorten which is a king’s memorial. Chorten is the religious centre of the country where Bhutanese people regularly coming for daily prayers. Your next visit will be of a textile museum where you can see the making of traditional dresses and learn the techniques of weaving. Later visit the Thimphu folk heritage museum where you can interact with the local life, culture and heritage and educational plans of this beautiful country.
Afterwards you will return back to Paro city. Here you will visit the Paro Dzong which is a national museum. Here you can see a vast collection of historical arms, books, clothes jewelries, religious articles etc. In the evening you will enjoy the waking trip to Rinpung Dzong which is the fortress od heap of jewels. This historical building is famous for its architecture and intricate design patterns. Come back to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day3:- Paro ExploreEnjoy the breakfast at hotel then you will be leaving for the visit of the world famous Tiger nest monastery or Taktsang monastery. This place is built over a 900m tall cliff and a sacred site of Buddhism around the world. This is the loving destination for photographers, bloggers, adventure seekers and pilgrims from all over the world. After the visit you will be leaving for the visit of Drukgyel Dzong which is a fortress and a Buddhist monastery. The ancient ruins are the most famous archeological site in the country situated in the ridge on upper paro valley. Afterwards you will return back to Paro. In the evening visit the spiritual hub of the district Paro called Kyichu Lhakhang which is an ancient 7th century Temple built by tibetan kings. Your evening is free to explore the markets and you can enjoy shopping here. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day4:- Paro-DepartureEnjoy the sumptuous breakfast at hotel; afterwards you will be leaving for Paro international airport to catch your international flight for the onwards journey.
